Liz & Jordan E-Session

So I don't really feel old until I am confronted with something that really measures my age. I remember back in college, at Kansas State, when I volunteered with the high school youth group. We all had so much fun and it was a blessing to mentor those kids. Those were some of the best times in college for me. I still feel like that was just yesterday... until now!

Liz was one of the boy crazy freshmen girls in the youth group when I was in college. I still remember her and her friend, Tracy, always giggling and talking about boys. It was just last month when I realized that Liz has graduated college and is now engaged! Where have the years gone? Well, I am very happy for Liz and I am excited that she chose me to be her wedding photographer. It has been great to catch up with her and to meet her fiance, Jordan. What a great couple they are. I can see how much they adore each other and their faith just shines through in their relationship too. We had a Sunday filled with great photos on their college campus, Mid America Nazarene, and the West Bottoms in downtown Kansas City. Congratulations Liz and Jordan. I can't wait to shoot your wedding in June! Enjoy some of these shots from the afternoon...

Heather & Domanic 11.29.08

Heather and Domanic had a beautiful wedding last weekend at Club 1000 in downtown Kansas City. The weather outside was gloomy but love was still in the air. They are such a fun couple and have become like friends to me over the last year. Heather would often text me about what was going on with her wedding planning or just to say Happy Thanksgiving and Domanic saw me working on the slideshow while eating at the reception and asked why I wasn't out there with everyone else. I just love how connected I have become with Heather and Domanic ever since the first time we met.

Heather was stunning in her wedding dress and Domanic, the tough guy with tattoos, had his sensitive side come out at their first site. It was funny to hear him talk about his friends and how much grief they gave him for the engagement photos with their little dogs. When his eyes started to water up after seeing Heather for the first time in her dress he knew it was just going to add to the hard time he already gets from his boyz! I know for that moment it didn't matter to Domanic! His bride was gorgeous and his emotions couldn't lie about how he felt about Heather.

The wedding was beautiful! I look forward to keeping in touch with Heather and Domanic in the future. Here are some of the great photos from the day...

One of my favorites...

We got to go on the roof-top after the ceremony for a few shots. BRRRRR...

Love this shot! These kids were just adorable...

Have I ever mentioned how much I love shooting the rings:)

Congratulations Heather and Domanic! You two are the best!

A guest at a wedding

I'm at a wedding right and I'm not the photographer! Can you believe
it? It's bittersweet... I enjoy just being able to watch the ceremony
without any responsibilities but this place is so spectacular that I
really wish I had my camera!

A surprise visit

Last night I was surprised with a phone call that my friends, the
Alessis', were going to be coming through KC. We all just saw each
other a couple weeks ago when I was in Chicago but it's always a
blessing to see them. We have been friends for over half our lives
now! Their kids are so precious to me and they brighten my day! We got
up early for breakfast at Chik-fil-a before they continue their
journey down to Wichita.
